Naya Pakistan Housing Program NPHP

Naya Pakistan Housing Program NPHP is a Pakistani Government authority, launched to construct five million (50 lac) houses in Pakistan. It was Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government’s election manifesto to control the serious housing shortage in the country. Its launching was one of the first initiatives of Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan after holding the office.

The Authority will provide one window operation to aid construction of new houses. All the land for new housing projects, colonies and societies will be provided by the Government while all the construction will be carried out by the private sector. Prime Minister Imran Khan encouraged the youth to set up their own construction companies.

The initiative will not just fulfill the housing shortage problem in Pakistan but will also create new jobs and start financial activities in the country. There are over 40 industries connected with housing industry. The initiative will open opportunities for Property and Real Estate Industry, Construction Industry, Steel Industry, Cement Industry, Architects and Planners, Sanitary, Tiles & Marbles, Interiors, Furniture, etc.

The Pakistani housing shortage has reached record levels. The current housing deficit is estimated to be 10 million (1 crore) new housing units which need $180 Billion to construct. The shortage is expected to reach 20 million (2 crore) housing units by 2025. This explains why buying a plot or a house is so difficult in Pakistan. The PTI government aims to construct 5 million (50 lac) housing units in next five years (by 2023) by which their term of government will end. Although, this will not completely address the problem but it will definitely create a significant impact if the government succeeds in delivering its promises.

Under the Authority, new housing projects will be launched which will construct houses as well as high-rise apartments. It will be a great challenge for Prime Minister Imran Khan to fulfill the promise You can find Application Form for NPHP here.
